Side Quest: Nature of Magic by First Magus Proteus[]

Starts with interacting with a note early on. There is a total of 13 notes to find.

Reward: +2 Mastery

Main Quest: Magi Initiation Trials[]

This quest starts by interacting with the dragon heads at the beginning of the level. The party must retrieve 4 Crystals, each representing one of the 4 Elements. Every retrieved Crystal must be brought back to the quest giver to unlock the next elemental sector, where the next Crystal can be found.

Reward: +3 Attribute Points

Side Quest: Wisp[]

This quest can be started by interacting with the Wisp between the fountains at the entrance to the Water Sector.

The first amulet can be found in the water sector - a golden glowing spot in the water - the optimal choice is to use magic because alternative results in a loss of max HP for a random hero.

Corresponding quests have to be completed in order to collect the remaining Amulets - "Looking for Plants", "Fire Altar" and "Air Altar". The final - Void Amulet - can be found in laying on the ground in the Void sector once access has been granted by completing the "Magi Initiation Trials". Note: There is NO alternative way to help the wisp later.

Possible Reward:

  • Save: 5 low quality amulets, each grantign resistance to one element. (Kane +1 , Meave -1, Aeric +1 , Rakhem +1 , Boron -1 , and Whisper -1.)

Side Quest: Trapped Golem[]

This quest can be started by interacting either with the Chained Golem or the Alien in the Tub.

  • "Tell Golem that you will do as he asks. Of course that would be a lie." (Kane -1, Meave +1, Aeric -1, Rakhem -1, Boron +1, Whisper +1 and the choice to give a champion +10% fire resistance.)
  • "Refuse the ridiculous request. Your word is all that stand between you and dishonor." (Kane +1, Aeric +1, Whisper -1

Once the Golem agrees to become the Aliens' friend you can report back and recieve a unique ring. Additionally, by lying to the golem +10% Fire resistance can be obtained for one Champion.

Side Quest: Mysterious Key[]

The key can be spotted in the water sector of this floor. To reach it the water level must be lowered activating the lever by the bridge. Using the glowing "Reel" will bring the key into reach once the party makes it across the water. Now to make use of the key the group must venture to the locked up door in the south eastern corner of this sector, fight their way past a combat encounter and activate a lever. That particular lever reactivates a disables Teleport within the fire sector of this floor. The reward for reaching the hidden area is a Unique Ranged Weapon: Lorraine's Pistol.

Main Quest: Proteus' Secret Lab[]

This quest starts automatically as we reach the Lab. We can find out more info by interacting with the console; Crystal Containers for the Essences can be found on the right side as we enter the actual Lab area; by talking with Geothash we can also find out that the Essence of Earth and Water can be retrieved on the third floor. Air is found at the Air Tornado, near end of that zone. Fire is found at base of steps that lead down to lava (area is slightly closer to end than beginning of this zone). If you haven't changed floors before, you Go to City, and reenter Tower on floor of your choice. The Water Servant and Earth Servant should show up on your map.

You will also need to repair one pillar to use Earth essence, the repair kit can be found on second floor in secret room behind the Grand Library.

All the essence serve one purpose: optionally weaken the Shade boss, making him easier to defeat.

Reward: Access to the next tower floor

Achievement:

Hello Darkness My Old Friend - Defeat Shade without activating any beam on Epic difficulty.

Side Quest: Malfunctioning Air Golem[]

Reward: +10% Air Resistance

Side Quest: Looking for Plants[]

Reward: 1/5 Wisp Quest Amulets

Side Quest: Geothash & Beothash[]

Reward: Treasure Chest + Enchant Recipe

Side Quest: Fire Altar[]

Extinguish all the flames, visible as beacons on the map. You need the 'Aqua Aquis' before you can do this.

Reward: 1/5 Wisp Quest Amulets

Side Quest: Air Altar[]

Sound the 4 gongs in correct order. Having the sound turned on is very helpful for this quest. Relative to the Air Altar; 1) South from altar and east two islands (teleports). 2) West from 1st gong to air altar island (just in front of teleport location onto the island). 3 North from #2 (beside altar) 4) South and then all the way to the west (on the same island).

The air altar must be triggered to start the quest, and a flat note gong means you have the wrong one (order) and must start again.
